The IELTS exam (International English Language Testing System) measures your English proficiency for studying or working abroad at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. It is offered in two formats: Academic, used for university admission, and General Training.
The IELTS exam assesses four skills separately: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Reflecting the real IELTS structure, the full test takes roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes.
The IELTS exam uses a band scale from 0 to 9. Each skill is scored individually, then averaged into the Overall Band Score. Universities set their own minimum thresholds, for example 6.0 overall and 6.0 for each component.
The IELTS exam is taken by students and professionals pursuing international education or careers that require certified English proficiency. It is open to both Academic and General Training candidates.
Preparation begins with a diagnostic practice test. Instructors evaluate the results and, together with the student and parents, set the coursework volume, timeline and target exam date, then build a customized study calendar. With native and expert tutors, free practice tests and complimentary reinforcement sessions, hundreds of students have achieved top scores.
Academic is for university and postgraduate admission; General Training is for work, migration or secondary education. Most university applicants take the Academic module.
